About Groot Group
Founded by Robbie Jena (Scientist), Simon Kapenda (Neuroeconomist), and Robert Grier (Systemist) in Columbus, Ohio USA in January 2010 and based in Namibia, Groot Group is a premier rapid industrial development and foreign direct investment management company which focuses on implementing applied neuroeconomics and systems dynamic to efficiently explore, develop, and manage self-sustained ecosystems for the slow-developing and stagnant economies in selected developing countries.

Groot Property Group (Pty) Ltd
Groot Property Group (Pty) Ltd (registration #2010/0669), is a Namibia VAT registered company (registration #530-336-2016), incorporated and registered on October 29, 2010 under the laws of the Republic of Namibia Companies Act, 1973 (Act 61 of 1973). Our founding directors are Robbie Jena (American), Simon Kapenda (Namibian American), Sakeus Kapenda (Namibian), and Robert Grier (American). Our auditors are PriceWaterHouseCoopers based in Windhoek, Namibia. Our lawyers are Koep & Partners also based in Windhoek, Namibia.

Groot Property Group (Pty) Ltd., was formed for the sole purpose of developing the Groot Town Center ecosystem and its auxiliary anchor components in Namibia. However, the Company is also exploring to develop similar ecosystems in Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, and Liberia, or wherever else the Company is invited and welcomed.

Strategy
The Company's prime focus is to explore, develop, and manage upscale multifarious rapid industrial ecosystems specifically designed to help improve and fast-track the reduction of poverty and unemployment, address income inequalities, increase economic outputs, improve the quality of life, and strengthen the performance, growth and development of national economies.

This paradigm is poised to help improve the well-being of people while generating values for our shareholders and partners, increasing profitability, and promoting rapid growth and development. Added to this is a more fundamental socio-economic impulse which will bring about the spread of integrated and balanced development across geographical spaces. This will be demonstrably expressed in the linkages of urban and rural economies with mutuality of benefits to be derived from equitable growth and development. The Groot development itself will be a focal point for agglomeration and localization economies with a potential to create other centers for the selfsame.

Groot Namibia Ecosystem
			ImpactEconomic Impact

  • Groot Power Plant, consturction budget: US$1.2 billion, expected direct jobs: 3,000 (2500 construction plus 500 permanent staff)

  • Groot Medical Center, construction budget: US$2 billion, expected direct jobs: 25,000

  • Otavi Steel Plant, construction budget: US$3 billion, expected direct jobs: 25,000

  • Namibia Institute of Technology and Namibia Research Institute, construction budget: US$550 million, expected direct jobs: 2,600

  • Gross Budget (Est.): US$7.6 billion (US$59.8 billion)
  • Gross Direct Jobs (Est.): 75,600 plus 378,000 indirect jobs; for a total of 453,600 new jobs created just from the 5 different projects in 3 years.
  • Simon Kapenda Job Multiplier
			Effect ModelEmployment Creation Model
In our Ecosystem Planning, we use "The Simon Kapenda Job Multiplier Effect", a proprietary model that helps us better estimate our job creation planning and development, that indicates that per each 1 new job created, 5 more indirect new jobs are created. For 8 new jobs created, 40 additional indirect new jobs are created. This comes to a total of 45 direct and indirect new jobs created, just from the 5 new jobs.

Based on this model, with each project within the ecosystem expected to have nearly similar effects, the Company expects to meet its targeted goal; to help Namibia realize full employment within 3 years from the current unemployment rate of about 54%.
